SPRING SUMMER 2020

Pompeii

"“Gorgeous corset,” “clinging crochet dress,” and “sheer organza skirt” are rarely noted at a menswear show—all three made my jottings document here. That’s because Alejandro Gómez Palomo is a designer who gleefully drives into the oncoming traffic of conventional gender norms in dress. Allied with the high levels of craft at his disposal at his base in Posadas, Spain, plus the richly imaginative vision through which he utilizes said craft, the result is something special indeed." Vogue.com

Autumn Winter 2019

1916

“Palomo Spain has returned to New York City, with designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo revealing his Fall collection on Manhattan’s West Side early this afternoon. There was a reason, besides his love of Gotham (he showed here circa Fall 2017), for the decision: “This season is called ‘1916,’ ” he said. “It’s about the moment that the Ballet Russes went from Russia to Spain, and Sergei Diaghilev and the Spanish avant-garde got together and created these mixed, unconventional pieces. Ballet has a lot to do with traveling around, going around in a caravan. We carry on with this attitude.”” Vogue.com

SPRING SUMMER 2019

Wunderkammer

"Set at Madrid’s National Museum of Natural Sciences, Palomo’s collection was titled Wunderkammer, or a cabinet of curiosities. He pictured his muse traveling the world and picking up beautiful objects along the way: From Spain (specifically Córdoba, in the Andalusia region, where Palomo lives), he took ruffles, fringed capes, and rich, saturated colors; from India, he found silver kurtas trimmed with mother of pearl buttons; and from Greece, he added lace-up gladiator sandals." Vogue.com
